Welcome to the Hydrology Laboratory – LabHidro!
The Hydrology Laboratory is intended to support hydrological studies, monitoring hydrological variables (rain, runoff, interception, infiltration and evapotranspiration) and sedimentological variables (water erosion and sediment transport) and environmental modeling of hydrogeomorphological processes.
The main objective is to understand the interactions between hydrological, geomorphological and biological processes in watersheds.
Area of expertise: Environmental Analysis and Management, ‘Natural’ Disasters, Surface Hydrology, Hydrosedimentology and Hydrogeomorphology.
📄 New Publication
A new study investigates benthic macroinvertebrates as indicators of environmental quality at river confluences in Guarapuava, Paraná, Brazil.

🌍 International Collaboration
The visit of Prof. Arthur Gonçalves, from the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (Portugal), strengthened scientific collaboration and opened new perspectives for future research.

🤝 LabHidro and UTFPR–Guarapuava
The visit of UTFPR–Guarapuava to LabHidro fostered the exchange of knowledge and strengthened opportunities for future research partnerships.

📄 New Publication
New LabHidro publication investigates how integrating hydrodynamic modeling and community knowledge enhances flood hazard mapping.

🚨 Disasters and Resilience
Last weekend, on May 16, 2026, students from the Geography Bachelor’s program at Unicentro integrated theory and practice through an enriching field activity focused on the study of environmental disasters.
