Welcome to the Hydrology Laboratory – LabHidro!

The Hydrology Laboratory is intended to support hydrological studies, monitoring hydrological variables (rain, runoff, interception, infiltration and evapotranspiration) and sedimentological variables (water erosion and sediment transport) and environmental modeling of hydrogeomorphological processes.

The main objective is to understand the interactions between hydrological, geomorphological and biological processes in watersheds.

Area of expertise: Environmental Analysis and Management, ‘Natural’ Disasters, Surface Hydrology, Hydrosedimentology and Hydrogeomorphology.

New scientific publication from LabHidro contributes to the understanding of hydrosedimentary processes at river confluences.

Article published in the journal Earth Systems and Environment:  “Beyond Intensity: How Rainfall Accumulation Patterns Drive Flood Disaster Characteristics in Southern Brazil”, resulting from a scientific collaboration between LabHidro and the University of Torino.

Featuring a presentation by Prof. Leandro Redin Vestena: “Water 2075: Management Strategies between the Reality of Extremes, Hydrobiological Balance, and Climate Uncertainty.”

The LabHidro congratulates our colleague Ezequias Rodrigues dos Santos on the defense of his doctoral dissertation entitled “Influence of epiphytes on stemflow and nutrient cycling in mixed ombrophilous forest in Southern Brazil”

We congratulate Dr. Alessandro Kominecki on his nomination for the ANPEGE Best Thesis Award in Physical Geography for his work “Bed Sediments and Morphology of Rocky River Confluences with Different Junction Angles.”
