Admission of regular students

The selection process is annual. The program’s collegiate board composes an assessment panel made up of six members: the coordination and vice-coordination and two researchers from each research line.  The stages of the process are as follows:

– written test (with an indication of a basic bibliography of Literary and Linguistic Studies) and candidates must answer questions from both areas.

– evaluation of the project (structure, writing, theoretical basis, with content appropriate to the PPGL’s area of concentration and the Program’s research lines).  The candidate is responsible for appointing two possible advisors (both from the same line of research), subject to availability.

– interview (the questions to be asked in the interview are those related to the project previously read by four members of the evaluation commission).

To be approved in the selection, the candidate must achieve a minimum score of seven (7.0) in all stages of the process (written test, research project, and interview).

Observation: admission to the Program is subject to the number of vacancies per advisor; those approved but not selected will be substituted.

Selection Process for non-regular students

At the beginning of each semester the Program opens vacancies for non-regular students according to the availability of the professors of each discipline.

Foreign Student Selection Process

Foreign candidates who wish to enroll in PPGL must follow CAPES’ norms and the specific selection process edicts.
