The PPGF is responsible for the co-management of the BIO-3 Advanced Multiuser Research Center (Biotechnology, Biomass and Bioenergy), with a total area of 750 m² distributed in three blocks (Biotechnology, Biomass and Bioenergy), with several spaces and interconnected laboratories. The BIO-3 aims to meet the strategic objective of the Research Center, which is the development of studies for the production and sustainable management of biomass, its genetic improvement and transformation by biotechnological processes for the production of renewable energy. Various medium and large-scale equipment, of a multiuser character approved in various public notices (FINEP, CAPES, FA and CNPq), are being installed in Bio-3, as follows: CHNS-O elemental analyzer, calorimeter, FTIR spectrophotometer, total organic carbon analyzer (TOC), laboratory Pellet press, Complete system for Dendrochronological studies of growth in trees from planted and native forests (LINTAB II, magnifying glass and software), universal machine for physical and mechanical testing of wood, among others.
