Sustainable Management of Forest Resources
The Southern region of Brazil has a great forestry vocation, being characterized by important remnants of the mixed rain forest and by important forest-based companies with pine and eucalyptus plantations. The forest sector in this region is characterized by the production, use, and market of wood and non-wood forest products, conservation and preservation of natural resources. In this context, the Program has its curricular structure aimed at meeting the concentration area “Sustainable Management of Forest Resources”, which provides studies and research in natural and planted forests, seeking preservation, conservation, and developing sustainable management of these forest typologies.
