A Herbarium is part of this laboratory, which is included in the INCT Project &#8211; \u201cVirtual Herbarium of Flora and Fungi in Brazil (http:\/\/inct.florabrasil.net\/), in addition to joining the CRIA (Reference Center for Environmental Information) (http:\/\/splink.cria.org.br). It also became part of the Brazilian Biodiversity Information System (SiBBr) of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) in 2014. The Herbarium has 5,856 specimens identified, registered and undergoing computerization, within a total collection of 8,000 samples.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Genetics and Forest Breeding&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1619804113959-d8e93f3a-84da&#8221;][vc_column_text]It has an ultra-freezer; autoclave; thermocycler; electrophoresis and binocular magnifying glasses with image capture system.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Forest Pathology&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1619804178110-0fa6bc1d-cd0f&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">It has a spectrophotometer; blade flow chambers; microscopes; binocular stereoscopic magnifiers; sterilization and drying oven; BOD incubator; analytical balances; Phmeter, water bath; compressor and airbrush for inoculation; centrifuge for eppendorf tubes; and coolers.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Entomology&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1619804198137-c8a341ad-6fd4&#8243;][vc_column_text]Holds binocular stereoscopic loupes and microscopes, as well as an entomological collection of over 10,000 insect specimens. It also houses basic forest fire equipment.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Ergonomics, Harvesting and Forestry Transport&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1619804216044-5f483c17-fed8&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">These laboratories are part of the forest harvesting area and have: chainsaws; motorized pruner; motor cutter; dynamometer; stopwatches; video camera; laser tape; hypsometer; GPS; penetrographs (manual and digital electronic); soil samplers; multimedia projectors, etc. In addition, it houses the Forest Operators Training Center (CENFOR), which has virtual reality simulators for forest machines. In relation to the ergonomics area, it\u00a0 has: human body vibration meter; portable vibration measurer, gas emissions meter; heart rate monitors; luxmeters; decibel meters; dosimeters; anemometer; stopwatches; scale and anthropometric chair, among others.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Forest Soils, Fertility and Plant Nutrition&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1619804237183-463d6415-0b92&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Divided into two laboratories which have different equipment, such as: UV-VIS spectrophotometer; VIS spectrophotometer; photoelectric flame photometer; digital burettes; refrigerators; exhaust chapel; precision electronic scales; reverse osmosis; heating plate with magnetic stirrer; shaker table; sterilization and drying ovens; muffle; Willey type mill; refrigerated centrifuge; lyophilizer; corers and soil samplers. The laboratory is linked to CELA (State Commission of Agricultural Analysis Laboratories), which certifies the quality of soil chemical analysis routine, in addition to providing soil analyses for smallholder farmers in the region.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Forest Geotechnology&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1619804264478-ab2e0a74-aff4&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Has mirror stereoscopes; total station; electronic theodolites; electronic measuring tapes; DGPS receiver; compasses; inclinometers; various equipment and accessories and software (ArcGis, ENVI, TrackMaker, etc).<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Forest Management&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1619804286797-12b28dcc-1a8a&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">It has several different kinds of equipment, such as: Bitterlich mirror relascope; electronic relascope; GPS; calipers of different sizes; laser calipers; Vertex IV hypsometers; Vertex laser hypsometer; Blume Leiss hypsometers; Suunto hypsometer; increment borers; motorized borer; trupulse; laser tapes; Bitterlich diameter relascope; telescopic pole; fiberglass diametric tape; bark probe; 3T digital scale; binoculars; electronic and analog dendrometer; electronic inclinometers; oven for sterilization and drying; refrigerator; BOD and microcomputers.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Physical and Mechanical Properties of Wood&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1619804306674-fc2e66b6-dc56&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This laboratory is linked to the Wood Technology sector, features a microcomputer with a data acquisition board and TESC software; heating plate; band saw; sanding machine; digital calipers; dial indicator; electric wood moisture meter; climatized chamber; tank for testing the dimensional stability of wood and derivatives; oven without air circulation; and mill.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Wood Chemistry&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1619804329228-fb4d700c-e9da&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This laboratory has a drying oven without air circulation; drying oven with air circulation; Soxhlet extractor; exhaust chapel and various glassware.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Wood Panels&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1619804349243-6168655f-7370&#8243;][vc_column_text]This laboratory has a hydraulic press for panel production; adhesive mixer; forming boxes; drying ovens with air circulation.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Silviculture&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1619804367804-c4533034-5d02&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This laboratory has several kinds of equipment, such as: seed storage chamber; semi-automatic horizontal autoclave; germinating chambers; microscopes; laminar flow chambers; drying ovens; pH meter; precision analytical balances; water purifier in reverse osmosis system; water bath; magnetic stirrer without heating system, etc. It is also responsible for the Forest Nursery, where several studies are conducted and has a non-acclimatized greenhouse with an area of \u200b\u200b80 m\u00b2 covered with polypropylene and suspended benches; greenhouse with an area of \u200b\u200b208 m\u00b2 covered with polypropylene plastic and automatic climate control and automated irrigation system.
