style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Embora a denomina\u00e7\u00e3o \u201c<strong><em>Mesosaurus brasiliensis<\/em><\/strong>&#8221; tenha se consagrado a partir da descri\u00e7\u00e3o feita em 1908 por Mac Gregor, estudos recentes d\u00e3o conta de que esta esp\u00e9cie se trata da mesma <em>Mesosaurus tenuidens<\/em>, descrita em 1865 por Paul
